The Redfield 3200 is a vintage American-made fixed-power target/benchrest scope, introduced in 1968 and produced through about 1982.
This is a 20X model (serial T02633), marked “20 X T02633 Redfield.” These were built by the original Redfield Gunsight Company in Denver, Colorado. The 3200 series was one of the earlier sealed target scopes with internal adjustments (a shift from older external-micrometer designs like many Unertls). It was popular for smallbore position/prone shooting, benchrest, and precision rimfire or centerfire target work (commonly seen on Winchester 52s, Remington 37/40-X, and similar rifles).
Key features of the 3200 series
Fixed powers typically 12x, 16x, 20x, or 24x.
Long tube design (~23–23.5 inches overall).
1-inch tube diameter.
Adjustable objective (parallax) on the front bell (marked in yards/feet to infinity).
Target-style turrets with ¼ MOA clicks (exposed or capped depending on configuration).
Fine crosshair reticle (sometimes with a center dot).
Anodized aluminum construction with a glossy black finish.
Often paired with Redfield’s specialized rings/bases that allowed easy eye-relief adjustment and solid clamping (many were sold with or later fitted to Unertl-style or standard mounts).
They were well-regarded in their day for optical quality and tracking relative to other affordable target scopes, and they remain desirable for period-correct builds or collectors of classic American target optics. Redfield as a company later changed hands multiple times (eventually the name became a Leupold house brand and later Academy Sports); the original 3200s are long out of production and no longer factory-supported.
