Remington Model 11-48 – 28 Gauge – Full Choke – Original Wood & Finish – Vintage Semiautomatic Shotgun
Offered here is a classic Remington Model 11-48 semiautomatic shotgun chambered in the desirable 28 gauge, featuring a fixed full-choke barrel, original checkered walnut furniture, and traditional blued steel construction.
Introduced in 1948, the Remington 11-48 represented an important chapter in the company’s shotgun history. Its distinctive long-recoil-operated action continued a design tradition established by earlier Remington sporting shotguns.
The 28-gauge variation is particularly interesting to collectors of vintage Remington firearms, as it is less commonly encountered than the standard 12- and 20-gauge versions.
This example remains in good used condition and retains its original configuration, with attractive walnut furniture, strong bluing, and honest handling wear consistent with its age.

The walnut stock and forearm retain their original appearance and exhibit scattered scratches, small finish marks, and minor handling wear. There are several noticeable marks on the forearm, which have been photographed for full disclosure.
The factory checkering remains well-defined, and the original Remington buttplate is present.
The barrel is marked 28 GA. FOR 2¾ OR SHORTER SHELLS and FULL, confirming its original fixed full-choke configuration.
Overall, this is an attractive, unmodified example of a classic Remington semiautomatic shotgun.
Collector’s Notes
The Remington Model 11-48 was manufactured from 1948 through the late 1960s and represented one of Remington’s important postwar sporting shotgun designs.
Examples chambered in 28 gauge have particular appeal among collectors seeking the less common variations of this series.
With its original walnut furniture, traditional blued finish, and full-choke barrel, this example represents a desirable piece of mid-century American sporting firearms history.
