Remington U.S. Model 1903A3 Custom Sporter – .25-06 Remington

Custom sporter built on a genuine Remington U.S. Model 1903A3 military bolt-action receiver and subsequently rebarreled to the popular .25-06 Remington cartridge.

This rifle features a nicely finished walnut sporting stock with raised cheekpiece, checkered pistol grip and forearm, black grip cap and buttplate, sling swivel studs, and a long sporting-profile barrel. The original military configuration has been substantially altered, so this should be considered a custom sporting rifle rather than a collectible military 1903A3.

Metal finish remains attractive overall with normal handling and age-related wear. The walnut stock is especially nice for an older conversion and shows attractive grain and figure. The receiver has been modified for a rear receiver sight/mounting arrangement, and the rifle appears to have been assembled as a purpose-built hunting rifle.

The .25-06 is an excellent flat-shooting sporting cartridge, making this an interesting combination of a strong U.S. military action with a classic American hunting caliber.
