Reproduction WWII German Heer Tropical Pith Helmet-Afrika Korps Style-Tropenhelm-1944 Marked

Reproduction of a WWII German Heer tropical pith helmet, commonly known as a Tropenhelm, patterned after the type of tropical headgear associated with German forces serving in North Africa, the Mediterranean and other warm-weather theaters.

Constructed with a tan cloth-covered pith-style body, wide brim, crown ventilation system, interior leather sweatband and leather chinstrap. Both sides retain reproduction metal insignia shields, including the Heer eagle and swastika shield on one side and the German national-color shield on the opposite side.

The underside of the brim is stamped “1944” and “56,” along with additional markings. These markings are considered reproduction markings and this helmet is being offered strictly as a postwar reproduction, not as an original WWII-issued helmet.

The helmet has developed considerable age and wear, giving it an attractive display appearance. Exterior shows staining, discoloration, surface wear, scuffs and scattered fabric wear. The leather chinstrap exhibits significant age and deterioration. Interior shows additional staining, handling wear and age to the sweatband and lining. Please examine all photographs carefully for exact condition.
