Sako Riihimäki .222 Remington – Vintage Finnish Bolt Action – Bushnell Banner 4-12x Scope

Vintage Sako bolt-action rifle chambered in .222 Remington, manufactured in Riihimäki, Finland. These early Finnish Sakos have developed a strong following for their excellent machining, smooth actions and reputation for accuracy. The receiver is clearly marked “SAKO Riihimäki” and the barrel is marked “Made in Finland.”

This example features a blued barreled action set in a nicely shaped walnut stock with checkered pistol grip and forearm. It retains the classic compact Sako action and is equipped with a Bushnell Banner 4-12x variable-power scope mounted in Sako-style rings. The .222 Remington chambering makes this a particularly appealing vintage varmint and small-game rifle.

Overall in good used condition. The blued metal retains strong finish with scattered handling marks and normal age-related wear. The walnut stock remains solid and attractive with assorted scratches, small impressions and finish wear consistent with a rifle that has been hunted and enjoyed. Checkering remains well defined. Scope is also in good used cosmetic condition.

A very attractive example of an older Finnish Sako and considerably more interesting than a typical modern .222 sporting rifle.
