A classic American woodsman’s combo rifle/shotgun — this Savage Model 24B-DL pairs a .22 Magnum (WMR) rifle barrel over a 20 gauge shotgun barrel (marked proof for 2¾” & 3” shells). The DL (Deluxe) receiver is decorated with delicate engraved game scenes (fox and ruffed grouse), and the gun features a gold trigger, nicely checkered walnut forearm and pistol-grip stock, factory sling swivels and a period Lyman All-American 2½× scope mounted in Weaver rings. A vintage leather sling is included.

The Savage Model 24 has long been prized by hunters and trappers who want one compact firearm able to handle small game with the .22 Magnum and birds or brush with the 20 gauge. This example presents very well: bluing remains deep with only light handling wear, the receiver finish shows minor finish wear consistent with use, and the wood is sound with crisp checkering.
