Classic Savage Model 99 lever-action rifle chambered in .300 Savage, manufactured in 1954. The Model 99 is one of the most recognizable American sporting rifles of the 20th century, combining a hammerless lever-action design with Savage’s rotary-magazine system and a strong action capable of handling pointed hunting bullets.

This example is in great used condition for its age. It retains an attractive walnut stock and forearm with factory-style checkering at the wrist and forearm. The wood shows only normal handling and hunting wear and presents extremely well overall. The blued receiver and barrel likewise retain a strong, attractive finish with some expected age and handling wear.

The rifle retains the distinctive Model 99 lever action and rotary magazine with brass cartridge counter visible through the receiver. It is fitted with sling-swivel hardware and its original-style open sights remain present.

A particularly nice addition is the period Redfield fixed 6X scope, mounted in Weaver rings. The scope complements the rifle nicely and gives it the appearance of a classic mid-century deer hunting setup.

Chambered in .300 Savage, a cartridge introduced specifically for the Model 99 and historically one of the rifle’s most popular chamberings. This is a very attractive vintage Savage that would fit equally well in a Model 99 collection or as a classic hunting rifle.
