This rifle is in good honest used condition and features a 24-inch barrel marked “High Pressure Steel Proof Tested.” It retains an attractive original finish with honest field wear consistent with decades of responsible use. The rifle is fitted with a Tasco 3-9x40 variable power scope, making it ready for the range or deer woods.

The walnut stock and forend remain solid overall with attractive grain and sharp checkering. As shown in the photographs, there is a hairline crack in the wrist of the stock extending rearward from the receiver. The crack appears stable but is fully disclosed for accuracy. Mechanically, the rifle is solid and functions as it should.

The Savage Model 99’s rotary magazine allows the safe use of pointed (spitzer) bullets, giving it a significant ballistic advantage over traditional tubular-magazine lever actions.
