Offered here is a classic U.S. military M1-pattern steel combat helmet, complete with its removable interior liner and military web chinstrap assembly. This example features the iconic American helmet design used by U.S. forces throughout World War II, the Korean War, Vietnam War, and the Cold War.
The helmet consists of the traditional rounded steel outer shell with a rolled protective rim, olive-drab green painted finish, and swivel-style chinstrap attachment hardware.
The exterior retains a textured military-green finish with scattered scratches, scuffs, minor paint losses, and signs of age and handling. The helmet displays an attractive, authentic military-surplus appearance.

Historical Background
Introduced in 1941, the M1 helmet became one of the most recognizable symbols of the American soldier. Its practical two-piece design allowed the removable liner to provide suspension and comfort beneath the protective steel shell.
The M1 served American military personnel throughout World War II, Korea, Vietnam, and the Cold War, remaining in widespread use until the introduction of the PASGT helmet system during the 1980s.
This example exhibits construction features consistent with later M1 military equipment, particularly the Vietnam and Cold War periods. The exact manufacturing dates of the steel shell and liner have not been conclusively established.
Condition
Good vintage military-surplus condition.
The exterior displays scattered scratches, scuffs, finish wear, and minor paint imperfections. The steel shell appears structurally sound in the provided photographs, with no obvious major damage.
The liner retains its interior web suspension system and visible military markings. The suspension displays age-related wear, and a separate leather sweatband is not present in the photographs.
The chinstrap assembly is present, showing wear consistent with age and previous use.
