U.S. M6 MILPAR Bayonet w/ M8A1 Scabbard-M14 Vietnam Era

Original U.S. military M6 bayonet manufactured by Columbus Milpar & Manufacturing Co. (MILPAR) for use with the U.S. M14 rifle.

The bayonet is marked “U.S. M6” and “MILPAR CO.” on the crossguard, identifying it as an original U.S. military contract piece. The M6 was adopted for the M14 rifle and saw service during the Cold War and early Vietnam War period.

This example features the standard approximately 6¾-inch spear-point blade with dark military finish, black checkered synthetic grips, large muzzle ring, and distinctive spring-loaded release lever near the guard.

Condition is good original military used condition. The blade retains much of its dark finish with visible edge wear, finish loss, scratches, and normal handling marks. The blade remains full with no major chips or structural damage visible. The black synthetic grips are intact and show expected service wear.

Included is an olive-drab M8A1 fiberglass scabbard with metal throat, canvas web hanger, retaining strap, and M1910-style equipment hook. The scabbard shows normal age, staining, oxidation, and storage wear while remaining complete and very displayable.

A desirable original MILPAR-produced M6 bayonet set and an excellent addition to an M14, Vietnam War, Cold War, or U.S. military edged-weapons collection.
