U.S. Military Tropical Sun Helmet w/ Great Seal Badge

Original U.S. military tropical sun helmet dating to the immediate post-WWII period. Constructed with a rigid pressed-fiber body covered in khaki cloth and fitted with the U.S. Great Seal insignia on the front. The interior retains its original leather sweatband and is marked with a 1948 date stamp. These helmets were commonly used by U.S. military personnel in hot-weather environments and occupation-era service following World War II.

This example shows honest service wear and age, including some staining and wear to the cloth cover. The leather sweatband is present but detached. An interesting hand-drawn marking remains visible on the front brim, potentially indicating former ownership or unit use.
