U.S. Model 1916 Small Articles Pouch w/ WWII-era Medical Contents

Original U.S. military Pouch for Small Articles, Model of 1916, accompanied by an assortment of original World War II-era medical supplies.

Originally developed during World War I, the Small Articles Pouch was issued as squad equipment and was intended to carry frequently needed items such as adhesive tape, foot powder, sewing supplies and other small necessities. The pouch is frequently misidentified as a conventional first-aid or medic pouch.

This example retains its khaki canvas body, large two-fastener flap, rear web attachment and wire hanger. Included is an assortment of period medical supplies highlighted by a box of six iodine swabs dated March 4, 1943, compressed gauze dressing, rolled bandage, Johnson & Johnson Band-Aid packets, safety pins and additional cloth medical material.

The contents are consistent with WWII-era military and commercial medical supplies, although they cannot be guaranteed to have been originally issued together with this earlier pouch.

Condition: Good original condition with staining, fading, edge wear, fraying and expected age-related deterioration. Medical supplies are sold strictly as historical collectibles and are not suitable for use.
