U.S. Navy Electro Explosive Device Test Set Mark 48 Mod 0 (1963) – Complete with Test Cables – Untested

Offered here is an original U.S. Navy Electro Explosive Device Test Set, Mark 48 Mod 0, dated November 1963, in very good surplus condition. This specialized piece of Cold War-era naval ordnance support equipment was designed to test the electrical integrity of electro-explosive devices (EEDs), such as squibs, cartridge actuated devices, explosive bolts, and other electrically initiated components used in U.S. Navy weapons and aircraft systems.

Housed in its original rugged military transport case with reinforced brass corner protectors, this unit retains its original control panel, data plate, instruction decals, selector switch, GO/NO GO indicator lights, fuse holder, Amphenol connectors, and warning labels. The interior still contains what appear to be the original power and test cables, making it a highly complete example.

The control panel features an 11-position selector switch, push-to-test button, GO/NO GO indicators, fuse and spare fuse holders, and original operating instructions. These instruments were intended for maintenance personnel performing checkout procedures on electro-explosive firing circuits without initiating the devices themselves.

Condition

This test set is being sold untested. We have not attempted to power it on or evaluate its functionality. It is offered strictly as a collectible, display piece, restoration candidate, or for historical and research purposes.
