Cold Steel South Africa Kukri Machete w/ Original Sheath-Older Production

Older-production Cold Steel Kukri Machete, manufactured in South Africa and complete with its fitted black nylon sheath.

This is the classic heavy-duty Cold Steel interpretation of the traditional Nepalese kukri pattern, featuring a large forward-curving blade designed to put considerable weight toward the cutting edge. The blade has a black protective finish with a bright sharpened edge and is clearly marked “COLD STEEL / SOUTH AFRICA” near the handle.

Features a durable one-piece black synthetic handle with aggressive molded checkering for a secure grip and a flared pommel with lanyard hole. The substantial curved blade and forward-weighted profile made these popular as rugged outdoor chopping and clearing tools.

The South African manufacture is particularly desirable to Cold Steel enthusiasts, as production of many Cold Steel machetes has since moved elsewhere. Older South African examples have developed a following among users and collectors who specifically seek out this earlier production.

Includes the black nylon belt sheath shown, featuring reinforced construction, multiple retention straps/snaps, riveted edges, belt loop, and a rigid protective tip.

Condition: Very good used condition overall. The black blade finish shows scattered light scratches, rub marks, and handling/use wear. Cutting edge remains bright and appears quite good. Handle shows only minor handling wear with strong checkering. Sheath is likewise in very good serviceable condition. Please examine photographs for exact condition.
