Original WWII-era R-4A/ARR-2 aircraft homing receiver with attached dynamotor and MT-7/ARR-2 shock-mounted mounting assembly. This receiver type was used for airborne navigation and reception of homing beacon signals. (pa3esy.nl)
Receiver identification plate is marked “R-4A/ARR-2,” “28 VOLTS D.C.,” and contract number NXsa 38075. The mounting assembly retains its separate identification plate bearing contract NXsa 59128. Features black wrinkle-finish housings, multipin electrical connections, a headphone jack, and surviving military inspection markings. The front-mounted assembly retains a red stencil specifying plug 333069.
Displays well with paint loss along the edges, scratches, dust, oxidation, and worn markings consistent with age and storage. Includes only the receiver, dynamotor, mounting assembly, and attached components shown in the first six photographs. No external cables, antenna, headphones, or separate cockpit control box included.
Operation and internal completeness have not been verified. Sold untested for collection, display, parts, or restoration. A substantial period piece for a naval aviation or military radio collection.
