Colt Lightning Medium Frame Slide-Action Rifle – .32-20 WCF – Manufactured 1886

Original-configuration medium-frame Colt Lightning pump-action rifle in .32-20 Winchester (32 WCF / 32 CLMR). These were Colt’s first slide-action rifles, introduced in 1884 as companion guns to the Single Action Army in the same pistol-caliber cartridges. Approximately 89,777 medium-frame examples were produced 1884–1902.

This 1886-production rifle remains in original configuration with its factory walnut stock and two-piece checkered forend, crescent steel buttplate, full-length magazine tube, and original-style iron sights. Metal surfaces show an even, honest brown-to-gray patina with traces of original blue in protected areas. Wood has the expected handling marks, dings, and wear for a 140-year-old working rifle but remains solid with visible checkering on the forend. Bore is decent with usable rifling and is still shootable.
