USMC Pilot G-1 Flight Jacket-Authentic and Identified to American Hero
Step back in time with this remarkable and historically significant USMC G-1 Flight Jacket, originally issued to 1st Lt. Goery, a valorous pilot of the F4U-4 Corsair Fighter with Marine Fighter Squadron 312, Marine Air Group 12, aboard the USS Badoeng Strait during the Korean War. This jacket not only embodies the spirit of the Marine Corps but also carries with it the poignant story of bravery and sacrifice.
Manufactured in the iconic G-1 style, this jacket is a size 42 and is in immaculate condition, showcasing the craftsmanship and durability synonymous with military gear of its time. The rich leather exterior is complemented by the signature knitted cuffs and waistband.
On December 27, 1952, while on a critical mission targeting supplies on a dock in North Korea, Lt. Goery's courageous flight was tragically cut short when his aircraft was struck by enemy anti-aircraft fire. He successfully ejected and parachuted into the ocean but was never recovered, and he was subsequently declared KIA by the United States Government. This jacket serves as a poignant reminder of his bravery and the sacrifices made by countless service members during the war.
