Original-style U.S. Army subdued cloth Basic Parachutist Badge, commonly known as Airborne or jump wings, embroidered in black thread on an olive-drab green cloth background.

The badge features the classic U.S. Army parachutist design with an open parachute centered between a pair of wings. The U.S. Army authorized subdued cloth parachutist insignia with an olive-green background and black embroidered design for wear on field and combat uniforms. Subdued insignia became especially associated with U.S. combat uniforms during the Vietnam War era.

This example appears to have been removed directly from a uniform. It retains the surrounding section of olive-drab uniform fabric with visible stitching holes, cut edges, fraying, and remnants of the original sewing on the reverse. That uniform-removed character gives the piece considerably more appeal than a clean unissued reproduction or modern loose badge.

The patch is in good used condition with honest service wear. The black embroidery remains clearly visible, while the surrounding cloth shows fading, fraying, loose threads, and wear consistent with removal from a uniform.

A nice original-looking piece for a collection of Vietnam War militaria, U.S. Army Airborne insignia, paratrooper equipment, Special Forces-era material, or field-worn uniform insignia.

Condition: Used, uniform removed, with age and wear as shown.
