Vietnam War Era USAF TS-268E/U Crystal Rectifier Test Set – George Voron & Co.
Original U.S. Air Force Type TS-268E/U Crystal Rectifier Test Set, a specialized portable electronic test instrument used for checking crystal rectifiers/diodes employed in military radar, radio and communications equipment.
The unit retains its original operating-instruction plate inside the lid, which identifies it specifically as the TS-268E/U Crystal Rectifier Test Set and provides procedures for testing several military crystal types, including 1N21, 1N23, 1N25, 1N26 and related components. The analog meter is marked George Voron & Co., Philadelphia, PA, and the front panel retains its selector controls, adjustment control, test socket and push-to-operate button.
The rear government property plate is marked USAF Contract Number 30(635)16600 – U.S. Government Property – Do Not Remove, with an inventory date marking indicating 1960, placing this example firmly in the early Cold War/Vietnam-era military electronics period.
Housed in its rugged original metal carrying case with folding handle. Condition is very good overall with expected scratches, paint loss, oxidation and storage wear. Interior instruction plate remains especially attractive and readable. Untested and sold as a historical military electronics collectible.
