Vintage Case XX USA Heavy Butcher Cleaver-Full Tang Wood Handle-Carbon Steel

Vintage Case XX USA butcher cleaver featuring a large heavy carbon-steel blade, full-tang construction, and riveted hardwood handle.

The blade is clearly stamped “CASE XX / USA” near the upper portion of the blade. This is an authentic American-made Case commercial kitchen/butcher knife and an appealing piece for collectors of vintage Case cutlery.

The cleaver features a broad traditional butcher-style blade with a hanging hole near the front corner, hardwood handle scales, three large brass rivets, and a pronounced hooked pommel. The full-tang construction gives the cleaver substantial weight and the heavy-duty feel associated with older professional butcher tools.

This example remains in honest vintage used condition. The blade displays considerable original patina, staining, oxidation, scratches, and scattered surface rust from age and use. The wood handle shows wear, finish loss, staining, scratches, and small areas of surface deterioration, while remaining solidly attached. Brass rivets have developed natural aged patina.

No attempt appears to have been made to heavily polish or refinish the blade, leaving the original aged appearance intact.

An excellent collectible for a Case XX knife collection, antique butcher-shop display, country-store collection, vintage kitchen display, or Americana collection.
