Offered for sale is an original Collins & Co. Legitimus No. 1945 Cane Machete, one of the classic American-made machete patterns produced by the renowned Collins Company of Connecticut.

The blade is clearly marked with the desirable Legitimus Crown trademark, U.S., Collins & Co., and No. 1945. Collins tools were internationally respected for their quality steel and durability, and the Legitimus line remains highly sought after by collectors, historians, and users alike.

This machete features a long, heavy-duty blade designed for clearing brush, cutting cane, agricultural work, and general field use. The original black composite grip scales remain attached and secure with factory rivets. The blade exhibits an attractive aged patina consistent with decades of use and storage while retaining strong, legible markings.
