Vintage Raytheon USN QK-62 Radar Jamming Magnetron in Wooden Support Frame

Vintage Raytheon USN QK-62 Radar Jamming Magnetron in Wooden Support Frame

Vintage Raytheon QK-62 tunable magnetron marked “USN-QK-62” and “A3610,” with additional “RAYTHEON” and “MADE IN U.S.A.” markings. This type was developed for radar jamming and electronic countermeasure equipment, making it an interesting collectible from the early history of electronic warfare.

The assembly features a black-painted metal body, cooling fins, integral magnet, multipin electrical base, and exposed brass-colored tuning gear with worm-drive adjustment. Mounted within a substantial wooden support frame with turned posts, upper and lower boards, cushioning material, and wing-nut hardware. The frame protects the projecting components while allowing the mechanism to be viewed from several angles.

Condition shows scattered paint chips, scratches, metal patina, and oxidation to some hardware. The wooden frame has finish wear, edge chips, and separation along portions of the plywood edges. Manufacturer and Navy markings remain readable. Exact manufacture date and original equipment assignment have not been established.

Untested; electrical operation and tuning movement are not verified. Offered as a historical collectible, display piece, or restoration component. Includes the magnetron assembly and wooden frame pictured.
