Vintage U.S. Army Military Police MP Leather Brassard-Crossed Pistols, Unit Matched, & Named “Capriotti”

Original vintage U.S. Army Military Police brassard featuring a black leather/vinyl-style body with large individually sewn white “MP” letters. The upper portion is fitted with a gold-tone U.S. Army Military Police crossed-pistols insignia and a colorful embroidered shield-shaped unit/command patch depicting an early-style American flag alongside a rising sun, mountains and water.

The reverse is lined in light-colored fabric and retains its original attachment hardware. Most notably, the inside is hand-marked “CAPRIOTTI,” almost certainly identifying the serviceman to whom the brassard was issued or belonged. Named pieces such as this are especially interesting for further service-history research and display.

The crossed pistols have been associated with the U.S. Army Military Police branch since the early 20th century and remain one of the branch’s most recognizable insignia. The construction and styling of this example are consistent with Cold War-era Army MP brassards, approximately the 1950s through 1970s.

Condition is very good for its age. The black exterior remains supple and displays well, with expected light surface wear from service and storage. The white MP lettering shows some age toning and minor discoloration. The embroidered patch remains bright with strong colors, and the crossed-pistol insignia retains an attractive gold-tone finish. Interior lining shows age and use, including the original handwritten name. Please examine all photographs carefully for exact condition.
