Vintage U.S. Navy ARD-2 Radar Intercept Amplifier CMD-50ADC with Mounting Base

Original U.S. Navy CMD-50ADC amplifier unit from the ARD-2 aircraft radar receiving system, an early electronic device used to detect radar signals. This is a component of the system rather than a complete radar receiver installation. 

Features a black wrinkle-finish metal cabinet, large Westinghouse pulse-rate meter, proximity and volume controls, headphone jack, fuse holders, and labeled antenna and power connections. Identification plate bears contract number NXs-12756 and serial number 264. Includes the mounting base shown and an aged inspection tag.

Good vintage display condition with surface wear, scratches, dust, and oxidation consistent with age and storage. Internal condition and operation have not been verified; offered as an untested collectible or restoration project. No antenna, cables, headphones, or test oscillator included. An interesting addition to a military aviation, naval electronics, or vintage radio collection.
