Vintage Western Electric 3J21 Radar Magnetron Tube with Magnet Assembly

Vintage Western Electric type 3J21 pulse magnetron with its substantial external magnet assembly, cooling fins, and mounting plate. The 3J21 was designed to generate high-frequency microwave pulses for radar equipment, making this an interesting piece of early radar and electronic engineering history. 

Clearly marked “WESTERN ELECTRIC,” “MADE IN USA,” “3J21,” and “C1024” in yellow lettering. Features a black-painted metal magnet assembly, exposed cooling fins, brass-colored mounting plate, wing-nut fasteners, and projecting connection fitting.

Shows scattered paint chips, scratches, finish wear, and patina consistent with age and handling. Markings remain readily legible. Exact manufacture date and original radar application have not been established. Untested and offered as a collectible or restoration component, with no guarantee of operation. Includes only the assembly pictured.
