WWII German Walther P.38 semi-automatic pistol chambered in 9mm, manufactured by Mauser in 1943 under the wartime manufacturer code “byf 43.” This is a desirable mid-war example retaining matching serial-numbered major components, with the magazine being the only noted non-matching part.

The pistol shows honest military use with scattered finish wear, handling marks, edge wear and light surface scratches, but overall remains in good used condition. The serial number 8529p is visible on the frame/slide assembly, and matching-number markings are present on the major pistol components shown. Wartime proof and acceptance markings are also visible.

The black ribbed grips are intact and show normal service wear. The pistol retains its original military configuration with fixed sights, heel-style magazine release, exposed hammer and characteristic P.38 double-action design.

The included magazine is period-style but does not match the pistol; the magazine is separately numbered 07174+. That keeps it slightly below a fully matching example, but an otherwise matching byf 43 remains very collectible.

Overall, this is a strong WWII P.38 for either a German military collection or a collector specifically seeking Mauser-production examples.
