Offered here is an original Walther P38 semi-automatic pistol, chambered in 9mm and marked “ac 42”, denoting Walther production in 1942 during WWII.

This example is a fully matching numbers pistol, including frame, slide, barrel, and locking block—an important and increasingly scarce feature that significantly enhances collector value.

The pistol presents in excellent original condition, especially for a wartime P38. It shows light handling wear only, with no signs of heavy use or hard service. The finish remains strong, and the overall appearance suggests a well-preserved example rather than a typical worn bring-back.

Please note: any visible marks in the photos are primarily handling fingerprints from photographing the pistol. The firearm was wiped down after photos and stored properly.

The grips are in very nice condition and fit the pistol well. The included magazine is unmarked, which is commonly encountered and does not detract from the overall value of the pistol itself.

Mechanically, the pistol appears solid, with a clean, tight feel consistent with a well-maintained firearm.

A matching “ac 42” Walther P38 in this level of condition is a highly desirable collector piece. Many examples saw heavy wartime use or were mismatched post-war—finding one this clean and matching is becoming increasingly difficult.

This is an excellent opportunity to own a well-preserved, original WWII German sidearm that checks the boxes for both historical significance and collector value.
