Winchester Model 1894 Saddle Ring Carbine – .32-40 Winchester – Manufactured 1907 – Beautifully Refinished
Offered here is a beautifully refinished Winchester Model 1894 Saddle Ring Carbine chambered in .32-40 Winchester, manufactured in 1907. This classic Winchester lever-action rifle represents one of the most iconic American sporting firearm designs of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Designed by legendary firearms designer John Moses Browning, the Winchester Model 1894 became one of the most successful lever-action rifles ever produced. While the .30-30 Winchester became the cartridge most closely associated with the Model 1894, the .32-40 Winchester was one of the original chamberings offered when the model debuted in 1894.
This particular example features the desirable Saddle Ring Carbine configuration, complete with its original-style side-mounted saddle ring, carbine-length barrel, full-length tubular magazine, traditional walnut furniture, and classic Winchester lever-action design.
The rifle has undergone an attractive restoration, including rebluing of the metal surfaces. The refinished metal presents exceptionally well, with a rich, dark blue appearance that highlights the rifle’s classic lines.
The walnut stock and forearm display an attractive reddish-brown finish with visible grain and minor handling marks.
The barrel retains traditional carbine sights, including a blade-style front sight and adjustable rear sight. The saddle ring remains installed on the left side of the receiver.

The walnut furniture has a warm finish with scattered light handling marks, small scratches, and minor age-related blemishes.

Please note that this is a refinished firearm and should not be confused with an example retaining its original factory blue finish. The restoration substantially improves its cosmetic appearance while reducing its originality from a collector’s standpoint.
AN AMERICAN LEVER-ACTION CLASSIC
The Winchester Model 1894 holds an important place in American firearms history. Its combination of reliable lever-action operation, practical sporting design, and widespread popularity helped establish Winchester’s reputation throughout the 20th century.
The .32-40 chambering is especially interesting because of its association with early Model 1894 production and the cartridge’s popularity among traditional sporting rifle enthusiasts.
With its 1907 manufacture date, desirable saddle ring configuration, attractive restoration, and good bore, this Winchester is a handsome example of a classic American lever-action carbine.
