Winchester Model 37A Deluxe 28 Gauge Single-Shot Shotgun

Nice example of a Winchester Model 37A Deluxe chambered in 28 gauge. The Deluxe configuration combined with the desirable 28-gauge chambering makes this a considerably more interesting example than the standard Model 37A.

This shotgun features a traditional break-action single-shot design with exposed hammer, blued barrel, upgraded hardwood stock and forearm, checkered pistol-grip area, decorative receiver scrollwork, contrasting buttplate spacer, and gold-colored trigger. The barrel is factory marked “Winchester Model 37A – 28 GA. – 2¾” CHAM.”

The shotgun remains in good overall used condition. The wood has a pleasing finish and shows scattered handling marks and minor wear from normal use. Checkering remains well defined. The barrel retains a good amount of its original blued finish with areas of thinning and age-related wear. The receiver has developed an attractive gray/brown patina with finish loss and scattered surface oxidation. Overall, it presents nicely for a used vintage sporting shotgun.
