Winchester Model 70 XTR Featherweight .223 Remington – Original Box – Excellent Condition

Winchester Model 70 XTR Featherweight chambered in .223 Remington. This is a particularly desirable chambering in the classic Featherweight configuration and is much less commonly encountered than the standard deer-rifle calibers.

The rifle features the distinctive Featherweight profile with a slender barrel, checkered walnut stock, ebony-style fore-end tip, classic Schnabel forearm, and red Winchester recoil pad. The factory blue finish remains excellent overall with only very minor handling wear. The walnut is also very attractive, showing only light handling marks consistent with careful use. Bore and mechanical condition appear excellent.

The barrel is correctly marked “Winchester Model 70 XTR Featherweight – Made in New Haven, Conn. U.S.A. Winchester Proof Steel – .223 Rem.” The rifle retains its factory iron sights and comes with its original Winchester factory box, which adds substantially to the collectibility of an already scarce Model 70 variation.

The combination of .223 Remington, XTR Featherweight configuration, excellent condition and original box makes this one considerably more desirable than a typical post-64 Model 70.
