WWII 1942 U.S. Navy RCA CRV-23254 ARB Aircraft Pilot’s Radio Control Box

Original WWII U.S. Navy pilot’s control box manufactured by RCA for the Navy Department Bureau of Ships. This Type CRV-23254 was part of the Model ARB aircraft radio receiver system and carries an early-war contract date of February 23, 1942.

Installed within reach of the pilot, this unit provided remote control over receiver band selection, homing and communications modes, automatic or manual volume control, CW/MCW reception and sharp or broad bandwidth. The ARB system was installed aboard numerous wartime U.S. Navy aircraft and could be operated from either the pilot’s or radio operator’s position.

The control box retains its original selector switches, output knob, receiver connector, telephone jacks, warning markings and excellent RCA identification plate. Serial number F-25789. It displays scratches, finish loss and normal service wear but remains an especially attractive and complete WWII naval-aviation cockpit component. Untested and sold as a collectible.
