WWII 1945 U.S. Navy Shipboard Radar Maintenance Bulletin CONFIDENTIAL NAVSHIPS
WWII 1945 U.S. Navy Shipboard Radar Maintenance Bulletin CONFIDENTIAL NAVSHIPS
Original U.S. Navy Shipboard Radar Maintenance Bulletin, Supplement No. 5 – October 1945, issued by the Bureau of Ships, Navy Department.
The publication is identified as NAVSHIPS 900,096 and is prominently marked “CONFIDENTIAL” on the title page. It was intended for radar materiel personnel responsible for the maintenance and servicing of shipboard radar equipment.
The period binder is gold-stamped “SHIPBOARD RADAR MAINTENANCE BULLETIN” and “Radio Division, Bureau of Ships, Washington, D.C.”
The title page also retains an old Navy routing/control stamp with handwritten entries, adding to its period military character and provenance.
This is a desirable WWII-era technical reference associated with the rapidly developing field of naval radar, and should appeal to collectors of U.S. Navy electronics, radar history, WWII technical publications, and Bureau of Ships material.
