Original WWII-era aircraft Transmitter – Gyro Flux Gate Compass unit, made by Pioneer Instrument / Bendix Aviation Corporation, Bendix, New Jersey. This is part of the WWII aircraft gyro flux gate compass/navigation system, used to provide stabilized heading/compass information in military aircraft. Similar Bendix/Pioneer gyro flux gate compass components are associated with WWII heavy aircraft navigation systems such as B-17, B-24, and B-29 type installations.
Unit has the black gyro housing, glass viewing window, large green mounting plate, shock mounts, electrical connector, uncage/cage instruction plate, and original manufacturer tag. Nice displayable aviation instrument piece with strong WWII aircraft/radar/navigation collector appeal. Untested, with surface wear, dust, scratches, and age from storage as shown.
