Original World War II Case XX folding survival machete manufactured for the U.S. Army Air Forces. These heavy-duty folding machetes were carried in B-2 and B-4 emergency bailout kits issued to bomber and transport crews operating over jungle and remote terrain. Their folding design allowed the machete to be stored compactly while providing a robust cutting tool for survival, escape, and shelter construction after a forced landing.

This example retains its original CASE XX wartime tang stamp, black composition handle scales, heavy steel frame, and full-length curved blade. The blade shows an attractive untouched gray patina with areas of age staining and light pitting while retaining a solid cutting edge. The handles remain secure with expected service wear, giving the machete an honest wartime appearance.

Case produced relatively few military survival machetes compared to standard military knives, making original examples increasingly difficult to locate. These folding variants are especially sought after by collectors of Army Air Forces, survival equipment, and WWII edged weapons.
