Original WWII-era U.S. Army Signal Corps Recorder RD-7/APA-23, manufactured by The Gamewell Company. The data plate shows Order No. 1177-DAY-44, with power requirements marked 80/115V, 60 to 2600 cycles AC, and 28V DC.

This unit appears to be a radar/electronic search recorder component, with controls for auto search/manual/motor off, calibrate, phones, volume, pulse/fine adjustments, release, power input, fuses, AC/DC settings, indicator window, and a recording/chart section. The black wrinkle-finish case, military handles, original data plate, and remaining chart/recording paper give it strong visual and restoration appeal.

A scarce WWII radar/electronic warfare recorder unit for collectors of Signal Corps equipment, aircraft radar systems, APA/APR gear, radio countermeasure equipment, and early chart recording instruments.

Condition: Vintage military surplus condition. Untested and sold as-is. Shows age, dust, oxidation, scuffs, paint wear, corrosion/speckling on front panel, and storage marks. Recording paper/chart area is present but aged. Completeness and functionality unknown.
