Original WWII-era German Iron Cross 1st Class featuring traditional multi-piece construction with a blackened non-magnetic central core, silver-colored beaded frame, raised swastika, and 1939 date.

The reverse retains its original-style slender pin, barrel hinge, and wire catch assembly. The pin is magnetic while the central core is non-magnetic. The cross measures approximately 44 mm across and weighs approximately 18–19 grams.

Based on the overall construction, dimensions, weight, hardware configuration, and non-magnetic core, this example is attributed to Rudolf Wächtler & Lange of Mittweida, a known wartime manufacturer of Iron Crosses. No maker mark is visible, so the attribution is based on construction characteristics rather than a stamped manufacturer code.

The cross shows attractive age patina and light handling wear while retaining strong detail throughout the frame, swastika, and date. No major damage noted. A very nice example for a WWII German militaria or medal collection.
