WWII German 1941 Catholic Birth & Baptism Certificate – Paulsgrund / Ratibor, Upper Silesia

Original German “Geburtsurkunde und Tauf-Schein” (Birth Certificate and Baptismal Certificate) issued by the Catholic parish office at Paulsgrund über Ratibor in 1941.

The document records Johann Zimroch, born 23 May 1926 and baptized the following day, with his parents listed as Anton Zimroch and Josepha, along with additional family and birthplace information written in period German script. The certificate bears the original purple “Kath. Pfarramt Paulsgrund über Ratibor” Catholic parish stamp, parish registration notation, and an original clerical signature.

Ratibor was the German name for present-day Racibórz, Poland, then part of Upper Silesia. Documents of this type were commonly obtained during the Third Reich period as official proof of birth, baptism, and ancestry, making them interesting pieces of WWII-era German civilian and genealogical history.

Dated 15 July 1941. Printed Gothic-style heading with handwritten entries throughout.

Condition is good for its age with original center and cross folds, minor edge wear, and several small filing/punch holes along the left edge. Writing and parish stamp remain clear and display well. Please review photograph for exact condition and handwriting.
