Original WWII German Feldpostkarte dated January 17, 1942, mailed during the height of the Second World War.

The postcard contains extensive handwritten German correspondence covering nearly the entire reverse and is addressed to a recipient in Lüneburg, Germany. The sender has included military information at upper left that may permit further identification of his unit.

Of particular interest is the postal side, which bears an original blue German military unit/service stamp featuring the Wehrmacht-style national eagle and swastika, together with a separate black Feldpost cancellation dated 17 January 1942.

The handwritten message on the opposite side is likewise dated 17.1.42, providing a firmly dated piece of German wartime correspondence from the winter of 1941–42.

A nice original example of WWII German field-post history with attractive period military markings and substantial handwritten content. Further research into the sender’s notation and partially visible unit stamp may allow the exact military formation to be determined.

Condition is good overall with expected age toning, light staining and handling wear. Both the writing and military markings remain clearly visible. Please see photographs for exact condition.
