Offered is an original WWII German S84/98 III combat bayonet manufactured by Berg & Co. of Solingen, Germany, complete with its original matching-number steel scabbard and black leather belt frog.

This desirable example features matching serial numbers on the bayonet and scabbard, an important detail sought after by collectors of German WWII militaria.

The bayonet retains its attractive dark-finished blade with a well-defined fuller, ribbed grip panels, and original military markings. The blade is clearly marked BERG & CO., while the crossguard retains its stamped serial number.

The steel scabbard retains its aged dark finish, and the accompanying black leather frog features period-style stitching, rivets, and securing strap.
