WWII German K98 bayonet w/scabbard & frog

Maker: cof 44 (Carl Eickhorn, Solingen-1944 production) 

Serial Number 7850 

Original WWII German K98 Mauser Bayonet complete with its correct steel scabbard and brown leather frog. The ricasso is clearly marked “cof 44”, indicating manufacture by Carl Eickhorn of Solingen in 1944. The reverse is stamped with serial number 7580 and suffix letter. Very Good WWII field-used condition. Honest finish wear and light age patina consistent with wartime service. Blade shows light surface wear but no major damage. Scabbard retains most of its original finish. Leather frog shows age and use but remains solid. 

The “cof” code was assigned to Carl Eickhorn, one of the major German edged weapon manufactures during WWII. 1944 production examples are desirable as late-war issued pieces. Waffenamt inspection marks present. Original wooden grip panels with intact screws.
