For sale is a rare and well-preserved pair of WWII German Marschstiefel (marching boots), likely from the early war period (1939–1942) or custom-made for an officer. These iconic jackboots are a significant piece of military history, offering a tangible connection to the Wehrmacht soldiers who wore them during the early years of World War II.

Key Features:
- Design and Construction: These tall, black leather boots reach just below the knee, featuring the classic pull-on design typical of early-war Marschstiefel. The boots are constructed from high-quality leather with a polished finish, showing genuine wear patterns consistent with 80+ years of aging, including creases, scuffs, and discoloration that add to their authenticity.
- Hobnails and Heel Plate: The leather soles are equipped with hobnails for traction, a standard feature of WWII German military boots designed for durability during long marches. The heels feature a horseshoe-shaped metal plate, providing extra protection and reinforcing their authenticity as Wehrmacht-issued gear.
- Interior Details: The boots are lined with leather, showing signs of use with natural wear and discoloration on the insole. Pull tabs are present inside, a practical feature for getting the boots on. Markings inside include "28 7" (size, approximately European 43 or US men’s 9.5–10) and "220 1" and "220 5" (likely batch numbers), consistent with German military production practices of the era.
- Historical Context: These boots are believed to be from the early years of WWII (1939–1942), when tall Marschstiefel were standard issue for Wehrmacht soldiers, or possibly custom-made for an officer, as suggested by the high-quality craftsmanship and lack of a visible Wehrmacht acceptance stamp (common in early-war or officer’s boots). The combination of hobnails, a heel plate, and pull-on design makes these a quintessential example of German military footwear from the period.
- Condition: The boots are in remarkable condition for their age, with the leather still intact and the hobnails and heel plate firmly in place. The wear patterns are genuine, reflecting decades of natural aging, and the boots have been carefully preserved to maintain their historical integrity.
