WWII German-Occupation CZ 27 / vz. 27 – DR Marked – Serial No. 19700 – Matching Numbers – Waffenamt Barrel – Original Holster, 2 Magazines & Two U.S. Bring-Back Certificates
WWII German-Occupation CZ 27 / vz. 27 – DR Marked – Serial No. 19700 – Matching Numbers – Waffenamt Barrel – Original Holster, 2 Magazines & Two U.S. Bring-Back Certificates
This is an exceptional and unusually well-documented WWII German-occupation CZ 27 pistol manufactured by Česká Zbrojovka A.S. v Praze and chambered in 7.65mm Browning (.32 ACP). Serial number 19700 is matching, placing this pistol very early in German occupation production and well within the desirable low-serial range.
The pistol is DR marked, associated with the German Deutsche Reichsbahn / Reich railway system, adding an especially interesting occupational and institutional connection. The barrel also bears a German military acceptance/proof marking. The pistol retains very attractive original-style finish with honest wartime handling and holster wear, while the grips, controls, and overall presentation remain very strong.
Included with the pistol is its original period leather holster and two magazines, making this an already desirable and complete wartime rig. What elevates this grouping considerably, however, is the presence of two original U.S. Forces European Theater bring-back certificates, both identifying this exact pistol by make, caliber, and serial number 19700.
The first certificate is dated September 25, 1945 and names S/Sgt. George A. Miller, ASN 33085253, specifically listing a “CESKA ZBROJOVKA A.S. V PRAZE 19700, Caliber 7.65.” The certificate bears the official Headquarters United States Forces European Theater stamp and authorizes the pistol as captured enemy property retained by the serviceman.
A second certificate, dated October 12, 1945, again identifies the same pistol, serial number 19700, and the same serviceman. This later certificate appears to document a subsequent administrative verification of the same captured pistol as Miller continued through the return process from Europe. While the exact location or checkpoint represented by the second form cannot be stated with certainty, having two separate dated wartime certificates tied to the same serial-numbered handgun provides an unusually strong and traceable provenance chain.
