WWII German VM37 Civilian Gas Mask Set (Volksgasmaske) w/ Filter, Box, and Instructions

An original German VM 37 (Volksgasmaske 37) civilian gas mask set dating to the pre-war and World War II era. Introduced in 1937, the Volksgasmaske (“People’s Gas Mask”) was issued and sold to German civilians as part of the nation’s extensive civil defense preparations. These masks were intended to provide basic protection against chemical warfare agents during air raids and were commonly carried by civilians throughout the war.

This example includes the original green rubberized mask body, threaded filter canister, original cardboard storage carton, and the highly desirable “Die Deutsche Volksgasmaske – Gebrauchsanweisung” instruction booklet. The filter canister retains wartime markings, including a visible Luftschutz-era eagle acceptance stamp. Complete sets with original paperwork are becoming increasingly difficult to locate, particularly when still accompanied by their period storage box.
