WWII German Waffen-SS Panzer Soldier Photo-SS Runes-LSSAH Collector Attribution

Original WWII-era German black-and-white photograph depicting a young Waffen-SS soldier posed outdoors in uniform. The soldier is shown wearing a dark armored/Panzer-style uniform, side cap, belt and buckle. Most notably, the photograph provides a clear view of the distinctive SS runic collar insignia, making this an especially desirable image for collectors of original Waffen-SS photography.

The photograph features period deckled edges and remains in good overall condition for its age, with expected light surface wear, minor marks and aging visible. It is currently housed in a clear screw-together protective display case, which is included.

A previous collector placed a handwritten identification on the reverse describing the photograph as an “Original WWII Era SS Adolf Hitler EM Panzer Division Photo,” apparently attributing the soldier to the 1st SS Panzer Division Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler (LSSAH). While the visible insignia and uniform support the Waffen-SS/Panzer identification, no unit-specific cuff title or other marking is visible in the photograph that would independently confirm the LSSAH attribution. The LSSAH identification is therefore being offered as prior collector attribution rather than guaranteed provenance.
