WWII German Waffen-SS Soldier Portrait Photograph-SS Uniform & Insignia

Original period black-and-white portrait photograph depicting a young German Waffen-SS serviceman in uniform. The image is postcard-sized and appears to be a wartime personal portrait rather than a modern reproduction.

The soldier is shown in a formal bust-length pose wearing a dark Waffen-SS tunic. The photograph displays several useful uniform details, most notably the SS runic collar insignia visible at the viewer’s right side of the image, along with the opposite collar tab and shoulder board. These details make the photograph considerably more collectible than a generic Wehrmacht soldier portrait.

The photograph itself has a noticeably coarse/grainy image quality, which may be inherent to the printing or copying process used when it was produced.
