WWII German War Merit Medal-1939

Original WWII German War Merit Medal (Kriegsverdienstmedaille) awarded for civilian or military service contributing to the German war effort during the Second World War. Instituted in 1939, the medal was commonly awarded to personnel whose service supported military operations but did not qualify for direct combat decorations.
