Original WWII German West Wall Medal (Deutsches Schutzwall-Ehrenzeichen), commonly known as the West Wall Medal or Siegfried Line Medal. Instituted by Adolf Hitler in 1939, the award was presented to military personnel, labor service workers, engineers, and civilians involved in the construction and defense of Germany’s extensive West Wall fortification system.
