WWII Iron Cross 2nd Class (EKII) with 1939 Spange-Ring Marked
Offered is a desirable WWII German Iron Cross 2nd Class (Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse) accompanied by a 1939 Iron Cross Spange mounted to the ribbon. The Iron Cross remains one of the most iconic military decorations of the Second World War and was awarded for acts of bravery and distinguished combat service.
This example features the classic three-piece construction consisting of a black iron core surrounded by a silvered frame. The suspension ring appears maker marked, although the exact code is difficult to discern. The cross retains attractive age patina and displays well with strong detail to both obverse and reverse.
Mounted to the ribbon is a 1939 Spange featuring the national eagle above a wreath and date bar. The clasp displays crisp detail and excellent eye appeal. The current ribbon arrangement appears to be a period or collector-mounted display configuration.
