WWII Signal Corps Calibrator BC-726-A Radar Test Set – Bell Labs / Western Electric – Serial No. 123

Original WWII U.S. Army Signal Corps Calibrator BC-726-A, an uncommon radar laboratory and calibration instrument developed for the Signal Corps Radar Laboratory by Bell Telephone Laboratories and manufactured by Western Electric Company.

The identification plate is marked:

  • Signal Corps, U.S. Army
  • Calibrator BC-726-A
  • Designed for Signal Corps Radar Laboratory by Bell Telephone Laboratories, Inc.
  • Made by Western Electric Company, New York
  • Serial Number 123

This unit was part of the highly specialized test and calibration equipment used during the development, maintenance, and evaluation of wartime radar systems. Equipment carrying both Bell Labs and Western Electric markings is highly sought after due to its direct connection to the pioneering radar research and development efforts that contributed significantly to Allied victory during World War II.

The unit retains its original olive drab finish, data plate, control switch, indicator lamp, output port, carrying handle, and attached cord. The exceptionally low serial number (123) adds additional collector appeal.
