WWII / Cold War Era 81mm Mortar Ammunition Container

Original U.S. military 81mm mortar ammunition container in excellent surplus condition. These heavy-gauge steel transit containers were designed to safely transport and store four 81mm mortar rounds in military service. Constructed from rugged steel with an integrated carry handle and hinged lid, these containers were built to withstand harsh field conditions while protecting valuable ammunition from damage and the elements.

This example retains its original olive drab finish and military stenciling, including lot and loading information. Markings indicate it originally contained TNT-loaded 81mm mortar ammunition. The container is now completely inert and sold strictly as a collectible storage container.

These large mortar cans are increasingly difficult to find and make outstanding display pieces for military collections, vehicle restorations, reenacting displays, man caves, gun rooms, or practical storage for gear, tools, and accessories.
